The Carolina Rebel

Our Buying Policy

Frock coatThe Carolina Rebel is always interested in buying authentic Civil War artifacts. We believe in paying a fair price and always handle these transactions promptly. If you have items that you are interested in selling, please email us at caroreb @ aol.com (remove spaces). If you want to send an item to us to see if we would like to buy it, our policy is as follows:

1)We must approve in advance, either by email or by phone, the shipping of any item or items to our office.

2)Regardless of the method of shipping, any item must be insured for its full value as a genuine artifact.

3)If we ascertain that the item you sent to us is not genuine, we will pay the cost of shipping it back to you. However, if you want it insured for its return, you must pay for the insurance.

4)If the item that is sent to us is genuine, and we do not reach an agreement with you to purchase it, we will pay to insure and ship it back to you.

C.S. Button5)We reserve the right to change or add to this buying policy without advance notice to any parties.

Many of the visitors to our web site also inquire about the value of items they may have found, inherited or bought. The Carolina Rebel is happy to answer your questions whenever possible. You must realize, however, that it is almost impossible to verify if an item is an original and authentic Civil War artifact without seeing the item in person. Therefore, many of our answers, by necessity, will be estimates that an item is worth between one amount and another if it is indeed genuine. We do not furnish appraisals on a no-charge basis for items that we have not personally inspected. Further, we accept no liability for estimates made with available information.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our web site!
